WWE WrestleMania 21

Let's get ready to rumble again?

Noticing the absence of a decent wrestling game on the Xbox, THQ has obliged to fill the void with a long-awaited addition to the WrestleMania series. WrestleMania 21 will offer new features and a more lifelike experience, and developer Studio Gigante is promising the game will be one of the most realistic wrestlers to date.

From what we've played so far, it looks like Studio Gigante is well on its way to fulfilling that promise. In the preview build, character models were faithfully rendered from their real-life counterparts, and the attention to detail was impressive. Muscles flexed, arms bent, and faces contorted convincingly during a match, further adding to a realism not previously seen in other wrestling games.

Aside from splendid visuals, WrestleMania 21 also features an immense amount of gameplay variety. A total of 46 wrestlers--old and new--are available to fight in over 20 arenas and 15 modes of play, which range from Battle Royal to Bra and Panty matches. And that doesn't include the new features offered on Xbox Live. Online, you can take on friends in an array of matches--all with full voice-chat support--or try out the new create-a-belt feature, which enables you to build your own championship belt and defend it online.

With so many features, WrestleMania 21 has the potential to tackle its way to the top as one of the best wrestling games on the Xbox when it comes out this March.
