Close Combat First Fight

Close Combat: First to Fight injects the squad-based shooter genre with realism and strategy.

Full Spectrum Warrior was one of the first squad-based military shooters to find a broad audience on consoles. Close Combat: First to Fight delves even deeper, with unique strategy-based play mechanics and a realistic-as-possible combat engine (for realism, the game is play tested by U.S. Marines who are also consultants deeply involved in the development process).

As the leader of a four-man patrol, you lead your fellow soldiers through a conflict in a Middle Eastern city. You'll give orders to the rest of your squad, work as a team, engage the enemy, and occasionally call in an air strike or two. But firepower isn't your only weapon: You can also cause the enemy to flee their locations by flanking their position or create confusion by interrupting their chain of command--among other tactics. There are also civilians and news reporters to contend with, and if your squad harms any of these bystanders, the mission ends. In the early playable build, using the controller to issue commands took some patience and memorization, and the pace was deliberate, methodical, and definitely not the same speed as a Call of Duty or Counter-Strike (but nonetheless rewarding). The game will also be Live-enabled, so up to four humans can work together in cyberspace. Close Combat will also be available for the PC.
