Over 40 years after his conception, Astro Boy gets a handheld incarnation of his own. Osamu Tezuka originally created Astro Boy in1952 as a boy robot who uses his mighty atomic abilities to fight crime and uphold justice. The series has been reincarnated several times, and Astro Boy remains one of the most recognized icons in modern Japan.

Astro Boy: Omega Factor will feature alternating side-scrolling action platforming and shooter stages, two levels of difficulty, and a replay mode that unlocks additional stages and an alternate story arc. The plot revolves around Astro Boy?s Omega Factor?his heart and understanding of the world. In order for Astro Boy to be complete, he must meet as many characters as possible so he can differentiate good from evil. The game?s levels will be a combination of various episodes from the 2003 Astro Boy retro anime remake and feature over 50 characters from Tezuka's various Manga.

Astro Boy will have many of his trademark abilities, such as Finger Laser Beams, Arm Cannons, and the infamous Machine Gun, which appears from his rear end. He'll also be able to string multiple combos together for devastating attacks. With a total of 13 stages planned and a rich world to draw from, Astro Boy: Omega Factor might be the most enthralling handheld game released this year.
