Pick up a sword and go to town?this is the Way of the Samurai.
In a feudal Japanese town called Amahara, three forces have come forth to claim what is rightfully theirs?a chance to live in prosperity. Your only chance of survival is to gain trust by working for one of them. But who will you protect?the good, the bad, or the innocent? On one side, you have the town Magistrates, who are more or less a representation of the people?s government. They protect the citizens against another faction, a rebellious group of vigilantes who call themselves the Aoto Gang. Or, you can remain neutral and stick up for the little guys. The original Way of the Samurai embellished upon the idea of a true nonlinear type of gameplay; your actions and decisions shaped the consequences to follow in a pseudo role-playing-game fashion that attempted to reveal the true essence of being a samurai. Unfortunately, you were given only two days to make what you would of yourself. The sequel follows in that nonlinear tradition but promises more time to explore your options as you now have 10 days to spend in town as well as new skills to learn and an instant-kill system to master.
Thus far, this game is shaping up quite well, and the preview build seemed to make good on the promised improvements over the previous game. Rest assured, Capcom will hold up its end of the bargain when it releases the game later this year.
