Amongst the chaos of E3, Dr. Zombie got to check out this cool new game for Sony's Eye-Toy. Read on.

Sony introduced a brand-new Eye Toy experience called Anti-Grav, developed by Harmonix, makers of Amplitude and Frequency.Taking the Eye Toy to the "next level" of gameplay, this is the first Eye Toy game that incorporates arcade style gaming instead of the easy gimmicks of Eye Toy Play and the timing-based gameplay of the new Eye Toy Groove.

Think SSX intermixed with Frequency like graphics and you have a pretty good idea of what this game is about. You "skate" on a floating hoverboard and zip and zoom across a multitude of colorful levels. Your skate is calibrated to your head movements and not your body or feet. So, if you tilt your head forwards youll speed up, tilt your head to the left or right and your body/skateboard will move accordingly. It sounds a little sketchy, but actuall gameplay proved the Eye Toy to be extremely responsive. Bright colored gloves on your hands trigger onscreen actions, grabbing icons as you zip through each level as well as combat moves (which was not available with this demo). Jumping up and crouching down corresponds to how you well you handle obstacles that appear suddenly on the track.

The coolest feature was the "flying mode" where youre free of your skateboard and actually fly like a bird through a level with rings to fly through as well as plenty of air to zoom and dive as you please. Youll believe a man can fly ;)

Everyone who knows me knows the huge Eye Toy fan that I am and this new game is indicative of the huge potential that I already knew Eye Toy technology represented. Even though this was a first reveal and a simple demo I know that Anti-Grav will be an instant hit when release this Fall.
