Alex and Ryan return to lay the beat down on River City High.

River City Ransom EX is the latest incarnation of the cult-favorite NES side-scrolling 2D fighter. This version features several enhancements, including the Dynamic Story mode that enables you to make key decisions and deviate from the original NES story arc, the ability to gain allies and recruit your own gang, and new weapons, such as ladders, chairs, and javelins.

The preview build sported enhanced graphics, while the game engine and gameplay seemed meticulously faithful to the original. (They even kept the smile option at Merv?s!) The only drawbacks were a limited item selection and bad ally A.I.?my posse attacked me more times than they hit enemies. Besides these minor gripes, RCREX is looking worthy of the River City Ransom name
