Mission Impossible: Operation Surma

Ethan Hunt returns to the game world after a long leave of absence.

You can't keep a good franchise down. Mission Impossible: Operation Surma is the latest installment in the Mission Impossible series, which hasn't been seen nor heard of since the N64 days. Ethan Hunt reprises his role as a covert intelligence agent who must hang, sneak, and shoot his way through a bevy of hostile secure locations in this original adventure.

Operation Surma is very reminiscent of Ubi Soft?s Tom Clancy?s Splinter Cell. The mission goals, gameplay, and even Ethan's sneaking suit look awfully similar. Ethan has all the same moves, a bigger bag of tricks, including cameras, zip lines, lasers, and computer decryptors, and a team of NPC?s to help him on his way. The gameplay is a mixture of stealth, action, and complex puzzles that require a lot of patience, luck, and skill. Many of the puzzles and cut-scenes are heavily inspired by the movies. The preview build of Surma had some drawbacks, such as a cumbersome controller configuration, obscure objective description cut-scenes, and an A.I. that?s too smart?hopefully, these will be addressed. With a little tinkering here and there, Operation Surma might easily stand up to current action/stealth games.
