Double Dragon, the classic side-scrolling arcade brawler and perennial NES fave, has been reincarnated as Double Dragon Advance for your GBA. Atlus is beefing up the original with four extra stages and a new enemy?The Smiths, who bear a striking resemblance to Agent Smith from The Matrix and fight like him to boot. More enemies appear onscreen simultaneously, making each brawl tougher. Atlus has balanced the added difficulty with new weapons and techniques, such as the ability to jump on a downed enemy and pound him.

The preview build was full of old-school goodness and awesome 8-bit music. In true retro fashion, you can continue only five times, so each life is crucial. To succeed, you must impeccably dominate your opponents. Only then can you rescue Marion and bring peace to the city.
