Who would have thought that Halo could still look out of this world? The latest info and screens inside.
Halo with mouse and keyboard? With 3 million copies of the Xbox version out in the world, even Halo with moose and squirrel would probably go over big. Now that it?s achieved cult status among console gamers, the Master Chief?s fierce first-person combat romp versus the alien Covenant is finally prepped for PC duty.Halo PC represents an interesting meld of console and PC, although the single-player combat adventure is the same. Gearbox reworked the original Bungie code with a bunch of cool PC stuff like pixel shading, specular lighting, bump mapping, and the like to make even this preview version look completely out of this world. If you?ve only played the game on a TV, well?you ought to see what it looks like on a real display!
Another key development is full multiplayer support over the Internet. There will be at least six new multiplayer maps for up to 16 players composed of areas from the Xbox game. Additionally, gameplay-customization features which are actually present in the code of the Xbox version (but hidden from players) are now completely accessible, so you can tune Halo to play like other popular shooters such as Counter-Strike or Unreal Tournament. Even if you?ve played Halo, you?ve never played it like this.
