Hands on impressions of Sega and Nintendo's racing collaboration.

Previous games in the series only hinted at the jolt of pure adrenaline that F-Zero GX provided at the recent 2003 E3 show. The wild turns, dramatic jumps, and huge amount of competitors onscreen, push the experience way past similar futuristic racing titles. All the while, the controls felt highly polished and remained true to previous installments.

Take your pick from 30 pilots and race through 20 tracks that are spread across the galaxy. The usual array of modes like Grand Prix, Time Attack, and Vs. are available, but the real treat is the Story mode which follows the exploits of Captain Falcon. Points you earn in races can be used to buy parts and build a custom racer. If you can find F-Zero AC at your local arcade, youll be able to use data from your GameCube version such as your customized racer and various records.
