Mega Man & Bass

The Blue Bomber celebrates his 15th anniversary with six new Mega Man titlesthis first is a GBA port of the Super Famicom game, Rockman & Fort.
If Mega Man Zero was a bit too esoteric for your tastes, then the very very old-school flavor of Mega Man & Bass (a port of the only-released-in-Japan Super Famicom game Rockman & Fort) might be more to your liking. Its just one of several GBA Mega Man titles planned for the Blue Bombers 15th anniversary. (Also coming: Mega Man Zero 2 and White and Blue versions of Mega Man Battle Network 3).The preview build of MM&B felt closer to the original Mega Man titles than anything released on the GBA so far with the classic rock-paper-scissors-kitten-potato style of boss weapon collection back in effect. Mega Man had his typical array of techniques (chargeable Buster, floor slide), but playing as Bass let you take advantage of robot design tweaks, such as a rapid-fire machine gun, double jump, and shoulder hinges so you could shoot at angles. Still, neither character could duck or kneela glaring design flaw that should have gotten Dr. Light thrown out on his ass a long, long time ago.
Mega Man & Bass also boasted challenging (but not nearly as FREAKING HARD as Mega Man Zeros) stage designs with lots of random whooziwhats (like CDs containing collectible robot cards) lying about behind barriers that could be broken only when you had the proper weapon or visited with the proper character. Has there ever been a more harmonious cybernetic duet?
