HyperSonic Xtreme

The racing genre is dead? Long live the racing genre!
The shining star in the preview version of HyperSonic Xtreme was the highly intuitive Build-Your-Own-Track featureit was like having the ultimate zero gravity electric slot car racing set with an infinite supply of track. The only drawback was that you had to unlock most of the accoutrements, such as turbo strips or power-ups, by playing through the more mundane pre-built levels. In the early build, the various hypersonic hovercrafts handled well, though the button combo for turbo boost was unnecessarily awkward. Thus far, HyperSonic Xtreme already feels like a well-madebut conspicuously typicalentry into the racing genre.
