The denizens of Baldur?s Gate are moving from the PS2 to the Xbox. Find out what?s in store once they arrive.
Fans of games like Gauntlet and Hunter: The Reckoning will be in for a treat this fall when Baldur?s Gate: Dark Alliance makes a home on the Xbox. Set in the world of the famous PC franchise, the gameplay will focus more on hack-n-slash than deep RPG themes. The Xbox preview version played smoothly and handled well, just like its recent PS2 counterpart. Visually, the only difference between the two console versions is that owners of Microsoft?s box will get treated to 480p output (if they have a TV that supports the higher-end display). Even without that, the game looked great with bright lighting effects for magic and well-animated characters. The list of Xbox-exclusive content will be pretty much nil, but action fans should still keep this worthy entry on their radar.
