NBA Starting Five

Shaking off the ESPN license, Konami's hoops series is trying to get back in the zone.

Cover boy Tracy McGrady will return, but ESPN will not, as Konami's basketball series hits the court on the PS2. NBA Starting Five will feature franchise and regular season modes, as well as a create-a-player option. Player models are also being improved to go along with new player animations. The preview version controlled more like the earlier, arcade-style In the Zone games than the more simulation-minded ESPN titles. The play calling mirrored this change by offering more personality-driven fare. Starting Five will also be available for the Xbox.
