Episode I & II? And, no, it isnt Star Wars. Phantasy Star Online is coming to the GameCube in a compilation package of the original Dreamcast game and an additional new adventure.

Phantasy Star Online became one of the Dreamcasts biggest hitsand one of the first console titles that used the Internet to place multiple remote players in the same combat party. Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II will contain a port of the original RPG, plus a new adventure, Episode II. Unlike in previous Phantasy Star titles, PSO will be more action-based than the usual turn-based battles.

Of course, the GameCube has no online support (yet), so PSO will feature multiplayer action in the form of four-player split-screen melees, which was exciting albeit marred by some onscreen slowdown in the early versions. Nevertheless, the twitch-heavy battles were easy to command, thanks to responsive controls. Slowdown aside, the games featured plush environments and striking special effects, such as spells and screen-filling monsters. GameCube RPG-ers should look for the Episodes to hit shelves this fall.
