The Getaway

Forget Liberty City�London is the place where tha pimps pimp and the playas play.
Have a go at a bird or get in a row with a wanker in Sony�s cheeky British gangster adventure, The Getaway. Though The Getaway is similar to GTA 3, differences abound in a 007 vs. Rambo kind of way. The preview played like a refined Grand Theft Auto, with a greater emphasis on stealth and cunning. There are several ducking, lunging, and rolling moves that you must employ to avoid being shot, and it�s almost always prudent to peep around corners before you charge in. The controls were not immediately intuitive, but once you get the hang of them you�ll be able to move nimbly and keep your arse under cover. At least in the preview, the cars were gutless wonders, which made it tough to keep up with the bad guys. No muscle cars or insane trick bonuses, but you can drive on whichever side of the street you like. The finished version of The Getaway will have over 200 vehicles and a true-to-life map of London to explore. With its unique style of gameplay and detailed environments, The Getaway should be more fun than a football riot!
