Sonys marquee game, which stars with the PS2 online component, will come in the form of Americas most elite SpecOps group. Are you ready to be a SEAL without going through hell week?

Finally, PS2 owners will be able to experience the exploits of arguably the best Special Forces team in the world. But this wont be a typical military shooter. Instead, Sony is promising an engrossing experience with the SEALs whether you play online with other people or fight hostiles offline, thanks to the games realistic feel.

Indeed, in a hands-on build, it felt like you were in harms way as you used the best in naval special warfare to eliminate enemies in the single-player mode. The included headset, which will be packaged with the game, worked wondersyou could direct your team of three to anywhere you wanted, fire at will, or plant bombs at just the sound of your voice. Online, youll be able to use the headset to communicate with your teammates. If the online game runs as smoothly as the single-player mode, SOCOM could be as deadly fun as a real SEAL pulling the trigger.
