Youll find snow, guns, and quite a few other four-letter words in Universals promising new survival/horror game.
Paranoia isnt used often enough in video gamestoo frequently gamers feel too safe in their fictional environments. The Thing, which picks up where John Carpenters 1982 film remake leaves off, aims to knock down that barrier a bit, offering squad-based survival horror gameplay where you never know which of your military comrades could be human and which could be homicidal alien. Theyre just as spookedtheyll only trust you if you make them fear you or you heal and arm thembut you could be patching up your own murderer. The adult language alone will earn this game a mature rating, but there will be plenty of disturbing gore tooits a true sequel to the film, in style and content. In the preview build, the games inventory, weapon, and squad command systems were easy to learn, but there were lots of menus; a helpful tutorial was already built into the first mission. And yes, its shaping up to be creepy.
