Black & Bruised

Taking the wacky approach to boxing, Black & Bruiseds ragtag bunch of cel-shaded rednecks and ex-cons is hurtling towards the GameCube.
While not exactly having the most provocative of game titles, Majescos Black & Bruised is a cartoon boxing game with a fair bit of arcade strategy lying underneath its trendy cel-shaded graphic engine. The game will feature 18 fighters, all harangued into the seamy world of boxing for one reason or another. Itll be your job to guide one of them to the World Title, using a variety of super punches to pummel the living daylights out of his opponent. In a comical sort of way, that is.Black & Bruised sets itself apart immediately from the Ready 2 Rumble series thanks to its loony-cartoony graphics. Over 30 facial expressions for each boxer help add to the goofy realism. The gameplay itself, however, wont stray too far from other current boxing games, letting you switch between 1st-person and 3rd-person cameras as you flail away. The games due out this fall; in all likelihood itll be the first boxing game available for the GameCube. Hopefully itll be a good one.
