SwitchGames Preview - The Future of Game Trading

When the word "trade" comes out of company's mouth the odds never seem to be in your favor. Switch Games changes that once and for all.

It has happened to the best of us. We take a freshly beaten game, two days out of the box, to our local game store in hopes of getting a good "trade." With a $12 credit to our account we sob in pain as we pick up the next big title for a few bucks less than the usual price, and we're left with one less game in our collection. Let me fill you in on a little secret that will prevent you from being the victim to countless trade-ins where you don't even get half your hard earned money back. The secret? SwitchGames.

SwitchGames Preview - The Future of Game Trading

SwitchGames' site makes trading games with other members a cinch.

SwitchGames is the way of a richer, happier future. Instead of making a "trade" based on a value a company puts on your game, you trade peer-to-peer creating your own values free of charge. The process is quite simple: Create a username, add games you own, and add games you want. From there, a handy device called SwitchBot comes into play. It finds people who own games you want and want games you have. You can then offer a trade and hope that the user is willing. Worried you'll get gypped? If you offer a SafeTrade where each user pays $5.95 you are completely guaranteed the game regardless of a person's level of trustworthiness. To help you distinguish a legit user from a fake, SwitchGames offers a set of badges users can earn ranging from the amount of trades they've completed to positive feedback they've received. On top of that, the website has anti-fraud software and community managers who make sure no bots are parading around. If that isn't reassurance at it's best, I don't know what is. Once a trade is underway, both users get a checklist of things to complete as well as the ability to pay for and print out a shipping label via FedEx to save you a trip to the post office. If you opt for the SafeTrade, the shipping label is paid for and you have one less thing to worry about.

SwitchGames Preview - The Future of Game Trading

This is a typical member page, where you can see games they're playing, own and want to trade.

The best thing about SwitchGames is that using the service won't cost you a dime. Additionally, users can trade consoles and accessories on SwitchGames. With so much to offer and everything at your fingertips SwitchGames makes it hard not to use their service.

Hmmm...Interesting. I'll have to take a gander at this. Sounds like it has potential.

That sounds awesome!!! I wonder how popular it will get and if I'll never need to see gamestop employees again...

This is a much better idea than going to gamestop. The only problem I have with this is I'm not very patient and when I want a new game I want it that day. Not a few days later I guess I'm gonna have to learn to be patient.

no thanks, I rather keep my old titles not pass them to someone else.

that was a pretty stupid and selfish post. you might as well have said "No! these belong to me, and i'll be damned if anyone ever touches them, other than me!!!"

To be fair, they're his games and he's allowed to do whatever he wants with them. If he wants to keep them all, that's his business. You shouldn't judge him for it.

Relax, dude. I wasn't being biblical. Trust me, i'm no saint. I just personally think that a man has a right to do whatever he wishes with whatever he owns...as long as it's legal of course. We shouldn't look down on him for it.

Seriously though, settle down. Deep breaths.
