NBA Live 10: Bring the Culture Preview

EA Sports hopes to claim the NBA trophy from the 2K series and culture is the name of the game.
EA Sports made a decent improvement on its NBA franchise last year but was still a ways off from toppling the mighty 2K series on the virtual parquet. This year they're hoping to close the gap further and culture is the name of the game.
NBA Live as a whole has to be considered something of a disappointment for EA the last decade as every step they've made to improve the gameplay has been met by an equal if not better improvement from the folks behind the 2K series. Last year's introduction of the DNA system was an interesting way to maintain the most accurate rosters on an up to the minute basis and they'll be returning that with a few other notable wrinkles which they hope will draw superstar attention to a perennial 6th Man award winner.
As I said earlier, this year is all about culture in the NBA Live series and EA Sports is looking to bring that with a suite of new graphics starting with a projected 500 licensed player shoes. Each individual player will be as faithfully represented as possible in this year's game with nice little touches such as LeBron's chalk clap entrance (shown before jump) and looks to rip your attention towards it.
Another new feature being added is the atmospheric presence in the arenas around the league. As the season progresses and rivalries are played, the games will take on an almost eerie realism in terms of crowd noise and mood with the atmospheric engine. Boston vs. Los Angeles games will be rife with "BEAT LA" chants and the crowd will be speckled with team merchandise like never before. Playoff games will and NBA Finals will be entirely fresh presentations onto themselves as EA looks to keep from any game feeling stale from repetitive dialogue and presentation.
Hopefully we'll have more of a hands on look with NBA Live in the near future.
