Experience a new dimension of horror with Resident Evil 5 on the PC.
Come September 15th, PC gamers will finally get their hands on Resident Evil 5. And not just the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 home console versions of the game, but rather an updated Resident Evil 5 with new content and Nvidia 3D Vision support. If you have a monitor that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, compatible GeForce graphics card, Windows Vista, and the Nvidia 3D Vision Kit then you can experience Resident Evil 5 at its best...in 3D!
Touch the Evil
Everything is better in 3D, right? Resident Evil 5 sure the hell is. The game features both "Depth of Field" effects that appear as though you're looking into the world as well as "Out of Field" effects where things, such as thrown axes and zombie dog tentacles, come out of the screen at you. We physically jumped out of the way of incoming axes and spiky tentacles during our play session. Even the start-screen and in-game item menus are in 3D. Viral molecules float in your face as you navigate the start menu and in-game item menus appear to lay on top of the action rather than a flat layer in non-3D.
3D is just the tip of the iceberg, too, for new additions to RE5 on the PC. Capcom has also added a new Mercenaries mode that supports three times the amount of onscreen enemies than on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Plus, there are new costumes to unlock for Chris and Sheva. And as with any Games for Windows game, Resident Evil 5 supports online matchmaking so you can find your Sheva with ease, voice chat, and unlock PC achievements.
If games with 3D support come in three flavors-works with 3D, optimized for 3D, and designed for 3D-we'd place Resident Evil 5 PC in between optimized for and designed for. The 3D effects popped enough that we were reaching out to try and touch the action. Capcom tells us it's only going to get better, too, because the team is still improving and increasing the amount of out of field effects for when the game releases this September.

Does that mean mercenaries will be three times harder than it already is?

I didn't get to play the new Mercenaries mode, but I imagine it being much more difficult, yes.

WOW I didn't know that PC's could do that! I guess I'm way behind in the PC world. Thats great news for PC owners, it would be nice if Capcom gave us (PS3/360) the Costumes as a DLC pack FOR FREE PLEASE! I didn't buy that download that unlocks th VS. part of the game. Just cause it is already on the disk but you have to pay to play it. LAME Capcom
