The TMD: A Handy Guide To Twisting Time

  • Revert: Broken door? Decayed stairway? Send them back in time until they're as new as the day they were built.
  • Age: Don't waste bullets on enemies, just turn them into dried, old husks of their former selves. Works well on shields and barriers, too.
  • Stasis: Lock something into a frozen state, then pull it towards you. Good for retrieving items and weapons.
  • Impulse: Enemies and mutants crowding your personal space? Send them flying with a burst of temporal energy!

Is there a weapon that has been put into the hands of gamers that isn't old hat by now? Classic guns, futuristic guns, alien guns, swords, and lightsabers. Yawn. It's time that we got a new type of weapon. It's time that is the new weapon.

A few games have attempted to use time as a gameplay mechanism -- mostly to rewind time to retry difficult sections. Some were successful (Braid, Prince of Persia), others were not (Blinx the Time Sweeper). But Singularity's conceit -- that time can kill -- has rarely been touched upon. Don't expect to rewind your way out of trouble in this title.

When the hell are we?

Singularity begins in near-present day as US fighter pilot Nate Renko is engaging in a mission to investigate a radioactive abnormality on a mysterious island in Russia. On the way there, however, a mysterious force causes him to crash on the island. Even more mysteriously, when he awakens, he notices that an item called the "Time Manipulation Device" is now attached to his arm, allowing him to age and de-age items and enemies.

I did read the entire article and I didn't come across anything about guns but i may have missed it

For those of you who prefer to kill enemies with more traditional weapons, fear not -- Singularity makes use of plenty of cool contemporary US and Russian weaponry, as well as some relic weapons from the Cold War era. Wait -- Cold War?
