The boys from across the pond are ready to make you twist and shout with The Beatles: Rock Band.

Aside from having one of the coolest trailers at this year's E3, The Beatles: Rock Band was fully playable at the conference, and from what we saw the amount of salivation from Beatles and music game fans alone could've filled up the entire Los Angeles Convention Center.

Three Part Harmonix

One of the key features that sets The Beatles: Rock Band apart from the other RB titles is the addition of two extra vocal tracks, allowing gamers to fully harmonize some of the Fab Four's greatest tunes. During a particularly long harmony line each singer (sometimes two, sometimes three) can begin filling up a "fab" meter by hitting notes correctly, and if these become filled up completely you'll be granted a "4x fab bonus," which quadruples the points received during these vocal segments. As you could guess, it can get a little hairy trying to discern the vocal tracks from one another, but each track is color-coded by singer, and during group vocal parts (where each singer is singing the same line, but not harmonizing) the vocal line takes the color of each of the singers combined. The system works surprisingly well, and shouldn't confuse gamers once they get the hang of it.

Our guess is that non-music game players who buy The Beatles: Rock Band will want to jump right into some of their favorite tracks without having to go through the story mode, and the game lets you do just that. From the start of the game, each of the 45 songs can be played instantly from the quickplay menu without having to unlock anything. Though this is pretty cool, fans would be missing out on "reliving" the career of The Beatles, which in the game will showcase some of their most memorable performances, such as their debut in the states on the Ed Sullivan Show and their fanatical crowd-filled concert at Shea Stadium in 1965.

The Beatles is one of my favorite bands. I never played any Rock Band or Guitar Heroes games but since there is a Beatles Rock Band game coming out I might actually buy it. And Judging by the article it looks like this game is really going to Rock.
