"All of our enemy creatures seen here, from the smaller foot-soldiers, shield soldiers, archers, they're all randomly generated, and we're doing this with a few other enemy groups in the game. They'll be picked from multiple different body parts, different accessories... we actually run code that spits them out on the fly with different levels of degradation and bodies, so no two look the same. Their animations are unique as well; if you happen to see a group of, say, 10-25 of them, none of them will be moving the same."
On enemy AI"Our shield soldiers will actually form many different defensive maneuvers throughout the game, such as forming a phalanx around Helios. Most people will use a Cyclops to break through the phalanx, but it's also possible to crush through them with the cestus. Other times you'll be walking down a hallway and the shield soldiers will continually change their tactics, such as forming human walls, which you'll have to figure out how to break through."
On "Icarus Ascent" gameplay"The idea is that the core of Mount Olympus has all these vertical channels, a network of tunnels. To get from one place to another quicky, Kratos can take advantage of these tunnels, and use the currents going through to fly up through them. These flight sequences use a lot of the tech we used for the Pegasus sequences from God of War II, but expect to see a lot more of these sequences in God of War III."
Is this the end of God of War?"This is the end of the God of War trilogy, yes... as far as our studio goes, we're focused on finishing this game and I don't really know where the story could go after this. I feel like a lot of times series need closure, or else they start to become irrelevant. But, we have not control over that, if the company wants to do a spinoff, or a prequel, it's their choice. As far as I'm concerned, this is the completion of the series."
