Section 8 Xbox 360 Preview: Letter from GamePro E3 Contest Winner
- June 04, 2009 00:00 AM PST
GamePro's E3 Contest Winner, Kenneth Pereira, writes his first preview for GamePro.
Hey everyone,
I am the winner of the GamePro E3 Expo 2009 contest and I just back from the show floor. I played a lot of great games, but I want to tell you specifically about my favorite so far, Section 8 which is developed by TimeGate Studios. The game is a sci-fi first person shooter about the insane 8th armored infantry unit named Section 8. As the player, you determine your own role in combat through customization in weapons, armor and "deployables."
* Deployables can be bought from your home-base ship and are sent from 15,000 ft. above the earth. Deployables include tanks, walking war machines and much more.
* The game is powered by a heavily modified Unreal 3 engine which can render huge battlefields.
* Multiplayer combat features clans, teams, and individual stat tracking.
* You get to choose where you spawn and are dropped from your home-base ship 15,000 ft. in the sky.
* Dynamic combat missions remove predictably.
* Jetpacks make it easier to move around the massive levels.
* There is a full single player mode that tells the story of Alex Corde.
* The game will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC fourth quarter of 2009.
I would like to thank the whole GamePro staff for giving me this opportunity to visit E3 2009. Going to E3 was an unbelievable experience. I hope this gives me a chance to work in the video game industry. Thank you, Gamepro.

this game looks great it will be on the ps3 and 360... this game will change the fps. it uses the unreal engine 3 system and it will look great on the 360 but since its going 2 be on the ps3 and ps3 is compatible with blu ray that game is going to look great and better than the 360 version. think about it unreal engine 3+blu ray=watching a motion picture... NOOO like watching actual soldiers fight it out... how good can it get

First of all, this game is not coming out for the ps3. Second of all, if this game did go multiplatform, then it would probably continue the tradition of games looking worse on the ps3 version then the 360 version.
