Tiger Woods is taking to the green once more, and this year's iteration is already looking promising. GP Sports takes a closer look at the game, and at some of the beautiful new screens emerging.
Every year the Tiger Woods franchise attempts to significantly outdo itself. This is not an easy thing to do, as Tiger Woods '09 was a pretty darn good golf game. If history has anything to say on the matter, this game will fall short of the lofty goals set forth by '09 (like '08 did with '07), but considering I am the eternal TW optimist, I am always hoping for the best.
Then, EA Sports released new screens comparing '10 to '09 and the difference looks like night and day. Anyone who takes even a brief glimpse will notice the improvement in graphics right way.
According to Reza Elghazi, the Art/Environments producer on the Tiger Woods game, "Golf is probably the one sports video game where the environments are essentially the game: you 'play the course', as opposed to simply golfing on top of it." I couldn't agree more. Elghazi goes on to say that you can expect the utmost detail when it comes to areas like the sky, water reflections, shadows and my personal favorite, "flourishing vegetation" (his words not mine).

The graphics are nice. I have one question. If I don't like golf in real life, why should I care about a video game?

@mrhammer
I would recommend renting one of the old games sometime soon. When I first started playing, I didn't know anything about golf. Then, I played this series, had a blast, and then got interested in it in real life. Now I play a sport I used to hate every weekend and love every second of it.

So you can more easily count individual blades of grass, but will the game be any better, or just better looking? I heard that the Wii version of this game will use Wii Motion Plus, that seems like more of an improvement than what we saw here. I don't know...
