X-Men Origins: Wolverine has a distinct advantage over its film counterpart: the developers at Raven get to fill over ten hours of gameplay with tons of intimidating enemies and bosses.

From hordes of commandos to the bulbous Blob, the game flings non-stop punishment at Logan, but nothing we've seen yet tops this boss battle. It was teased in X-3: The Last Stand, but we only saw a glimpse of the towering, mutant-hunting, robot behemoth called the Sentinel. Plug your ears if you hate spoilers, because we're about to blow the cover off this insane deathmatch between mutant and machine.
Achilles' Heel
As we look on at Raven's demonstration of the Sentinel boss fight, the battle starts on the ground as Logan runs into an empty military complex. Suddenly, the ground tremors and the camera pans out as a large, metallic fist clamps down across the far horizon. A second later, the Sentinel rears its gigantic head with a roar of rocket-propelled flight as it lifts 200-feet tall into the sky. The Sentinel lands with a thunderous crash in the middle of the military base, and Wolverine is sent flying like a tennis ball shot out of a cannon.
Luckily, Wolverine recovers quickly enough, digging his claws into the pavement as the Sentinel lumbers after him. Military personnel pour onto the screen, and Wolverine wastes little time lancing out his claws as he spins like a propeller, severing arms and tearing through body armor in a shower of blood. Suddenly, the deceptively quick Sentinel grabs Wolverine as its eyes start to glow bright neon red. The developer helming the demo frantically hammers the attack button as Logan tries to claw himself free from the Sentinel's grip before its laser eyes unleash.
He fails. With a brilliant flash, the Sentinel lets loose an Optic Beam that would make Cyclops sick with envy, and Wolverine is sent hurtling to the ground with fresh burns and lacerations spread angrily across his torso. Charging back into the fight, the developer activates Logan's Feral Sense and quickly located the weak point in the Sentinel's foot plating. Wolverine dives straight in with a furry of metal slashes and tears through the armor like a boulder sailing through plywood.
Just like the latter part of the Sentinel battle, Logan will take to the air in many levels and freefall through the sky to chase airborne targets.
Bringing Down the Giant
After taking heavy damage to its feet and hands, the action breaks as the Sentinel decides to get out of the fight and takes to the air. As the camera pans down the Sentinel's body, a small speck grows larger against the red metal plating, and we see Wolverine hanging on for dear life, his Adamantium claws jammed into the leg of the Sentinel. Another series of QTE cues pops up as Wolverine sticks his whole arm into various moving gears under the Sentinel's body, using his metal skeleton to disrupt the Sentinel's movement. Eventually, Logan makes his way to the iron giant's central chest plate, and the developer mashes on the controller's face buttons as Logan uses his claws to pry open the covering exposing the Sentinel's main battery. After being caught in the face with a few Optic Blasts, Wolverine rips the plating clean off, sending the Sentinel plummeting down to Earth.
A quick cut scene later, the Sentinel rises from a gigantic crater, its face a burned and shredded mess. Meanwhile, still rocketing through the sky miles above, Wolverine points his claws together in a kamikaze, flying-Superman pose as the wind around him glows a hot, brilliant orange. Mere moments later, a human comet explodes out the back of the Sentinel's head, and Logan hits the ground with a deep BOOM. A moment passes, and a clawed hand suddenly pops out of a burning crater, as a bloody corpse heaves itself up to its feet. Slowly, Logan's flesh starts to repair itself, as he nonchalantly stalks away from the fallen metal giant.
"Should've had him crash closer to town," Wolverine growls dismissively as the scene cuts to black.
The Sentinel may be HUGE, but it's definitely no slowpoke. It can snatch Wolverine straight off the ground and blast him with a lethal doze of optical heat.
