Undead Legionnaire: Fallen, corrupted soldiers who wield all manner of weapons. Kratos often encounters these skeletal fighters in large crowds, and the sheer quantity of them can be overwhelming. In numbers, Undead Legionnaires can pile up on Kratos like linebackers on a quarterback. Undead Legionnaires are also small enough for Kratos to pick up and use like (in)human battering rams, useful for bowling over other zombies or deflecting bow and arrow fire while moving in close.
Centaur: These massive horsemen are nothing like the noble, gentle giants depicted in fairytales. In God of War III, Centaurs are a nasty, brutish race that attack with huge war clubs. They are natural leaders, and will direct troops of Undead Legionnaire into battle. The presence of a Centaur makes these zombie soldiers attack in more clever and aggressive methods, such as rushing Kratos en masse. In these times, the Centaur will generally hang back behind the troops and take occasional dashes at Kratos. Upon death, Kratos will slit open the half-horse's gut, exposing loops of stringy intestines in full HD splendor.
Cyclops: A towering 20-foot brute armed with a club fashioned from an uprooted tree. Like their predecessors in previous God of War games, Cyclops are fierce, resilient fighters but are clumsy and somewhat uncoordinated. In God of War III, Kratos can mount and ride Cyclops, latching on with his serrated Blades of Athena swords and prodding the creature into combat. When badly wounded, Kratos can finish off a Cyclops by yanking out its single, giant eye in an orgy of bloodshed that has to be seen to be believed.
Harpy: Winged terrors with body parts resembling an eagle and a human woman. These airborne assassins are easy to kill, but often attack in flocks and can be difficult to reach without the use of the Fire Bow. In God of War III, Kratos can latch onto a Harpy in mid-flight and use it to traverse pits and chasms. Kratos can even steer the Harpy by thrusting it with his swords, but upon its death Kratos must hop to and grab another Harpy lest he fall to his doom. You can traverse large gaps by hopping from Harpy to Harpy, or even slam the Harpy down onto enemies below in an explosive, one-use suicide dive.
Chimera: A new mythic beast that debuts in God of War III, the Chimera is a vile combination of lion, goat, and snake. The Chimera attacks in one of three different ways, depending on which body part is dominant. When its snake tail is dominant, it will arc over the Chimera like a scorpion and vomit streams of venom. Once Kratos chops off the snake, the Chimera rears up on its hind legs in its lion form and gives chase while belching fireballs. Once Kratos decapitates the lion head, the Chimera hunkers low to the ground to reveal the Satantic-looking goat head. Kratos impales the goat head with one of its own broken horns, killing the beast once and for all.
Helios: Less of a combatant and more of a victim of the Titan's wrath. You find the wounded Helios in the fortified city that lies midway up Mt. Olympus. Before dealing with the god of the sun, you must penetrate the phalanx of troops that protect him. These troops carry large, enchanted shields that are immune to Kratoss blades, so Kratos must mount a nearby Cyclops and use it to topple the guardians. For the coup de grace, you must tap buttons to grab Helios's head, then twist, wrench, and heave until it rips right off the god's shoulders. Youll now be able to use the Head of Helios, an item that can reveal secret areas and blind enemies with its searing light.

agree with most. But calling first, second, third, etc. is just stupid. Congratulations, you just showed how much you comment on this site by being the first to comment on this thread.

that video where kratos rips off helios's head is SICK!! if you haven't seen go watch it, but make sure you haven't eaten before you do. it looks like there was no compromise between the artistic detail and piecing the game together--talk about gore.
