Tekken 5 DR Online has significant lag, regardless of good connections on both ends. Will Tekken 6 be equally laggy? What are the obstacles? What can be done to fix this?

TEKKEN 6 TEAM: Well there are many factors that go into the online battles and whether there's lag or not. Your connection needs to be good ...there are many other factors too. And one thing that makes this even more difficult is Tekken is different from other fighting games in the fact that there is not much of a key buffer. Where other games might have three to five frames between the input and when it's displayed onscreen. Tekken only has one frame. So this makes it even more difficult to adapt Tekken online.

Another thing we've noticed is that when the lag occurs, it's not a set rate. It's dynamic. And that is in itself difficult. If all moves were one or two seconds delayed then it would easier to adapt to that. But it's not as dynamic and changing, and that's what throws players off a lot. So we're thinking might be some kind of hint going forward in trying to develop the online battles in Tekken 6. Ultimately, we are thinking of many ways to combat the lag.

Like in Tekken 5 DR Online, will there be rankings and XP points that can be earned? What other features like this have been added? Might I be able to purchase or unlock new customizable options with experience points, for example?

TEKKEN 6 TEAM: That's cool. That's a good idea. But not only that, we're still thinking about online specifics and what we want to do with that. However, looking back on Tekken 5 DR, we are not satisfied with that system. It's very basic in the point structure and ranks. And we don't want to have a system that just rewards players who are good and you don't get anything if you're not as good. We want to create a system that everyone can enjoy. So there are a lot of things we are looking into, but nothing that we can announce right at this moment.

Earlier we talked about replays. Are replays going to be something that players can save or even download to watch the best players and fights?

TEKKEN 6 TEAM: We really would like to incorporate those features, but again that is something we are not talking about at the moment.

Xbox 360 fans rejoice. You denied it when you didn't have it. Now that the Tekken series is finally coming to Xbox. Embrace it. It is one hell of a series.

I love Sony, but I still have a certain lost of respect for them for lettin' this series exclusiveness slip through their fingers. On the bright side, now the series may expand even further.

Why are you and so many other people so butt-hurt about games not being exclusive? These games going cross-platform have nothing to do with Sony or Microsoft (unless a shit load of money is paid for being exclusive). Namco-Bandai made the game,so it was their decision to bring it to 360. Same Capcom with Devil May Cry 4 and Square Enix with FF13. MS has far better market share than it did with the original Xbox so it makes perfect sense for them to make games for 360. You and all others who think like you need to quit bitchin' and just play the damn games.

I wish it was being released earlier but I guess the more time they take with it, the better it gets. A Wii version would be nice w/ classic and/or gamecube controller support just like SSBB. Even if it won't come out for the Wii, I will be getting a PS3 soon anyways. Nobody better say the Wii can't handle it since many games have shown the true awesome graphics that can be established on the Wii (ex. Conduit). A wii version of Soul Calibur IV would also be nice.
