Can you speak a little bit more about the recent announcement that Tekken 6 will be coming to both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360?
TEKKEN 6 TEAM: First off there is the timing. You have the PS3 and Xbox 360, two very powerful systems, and we're able to release it at the same time. So that was one factor in the decision. Maybe the main factor is that we have many fans worldwide for the Tekken series, and when you look at the foreign [North American] market, the Xbox 360 is very strong. So we had many requests from fans that only owned an Xbox 360 that they wanted Tekken on their system. And we want to have Tekken in the hands of as many fans of possible.
Why is it that Tekken on the home consoles comes out so much later than the arcade version?
TEKKEN 6 TEAM: That's not always the case. Tekken 5 came out on the PS2 two months after the arcades. It was quite quick, maybe too quick. This time around, we wanted to make the game for the PS3, which we planned originally. However, when we created Tekken 6 for the arcades there were a lot of requests from the fans for new characters and customization options. And there were some things that we didn't have time to do. So with Bloodline Rebellion, which we are currently working on for the arcades, it gave us time to overhaul the graphics engine, redo the shaders, and to really draw the power out of the hardware. So we believe that will translate into an even better title.
We were also scolded by arcade operators for putting Tekken 5 out on the home console too early.
What is Bloodline Rebellion?
TEKKEN 6 TEAM: I guess the foreign [North American] news press hasn't had a chance to come in contact with Tekken 6 since it's on the arcade. But what Bloodline Rebellion is, when Tekken 6 came out in the arcades, as we said, there was a lot of request from fans for new characters and customizations options and what not. So we decided to release an installment, not Tekken 7, but kind of an upgrade of Tekken 6 where we added twice the amount of items and two new characters. So if you count from Tekken 6, there are four new characters and then two new characters in Bloodline Rebellion.
So is this similar to the uprade of Tekken 5 to Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection?
TEKKEN 6 TEAM: Even more than because the graphics have powered up and we've done a lot more with the game itself. And in addition to the new characters, all the mainstay characters have also received new movements and techniques. We've done a lot of work on Bloodline Rebellion.
So is it fair to say that PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will be getting Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion out of the box?
TEKKEN 6 TEAM: Of course, all that will make its way to Tekken 6 for the home version. But also, we like to add more special stuff for the home versions.
What are the online features of Tekken 6 on the PS3 and Xbox 360?
TEKKEN 6 TEAM: Basically, one thing we really want to try hard on is to recreate the arcade experience of fighting someone in the arcades. So there will be ghost characters and replays of other people fighting and yourself as well. Not only that, but the online chat that was in Tekken 5: DR for the PS3, and perhaps being able to type words as well.
In addition to all that, we can't go into too much detail right now, we also want to include something that is online but is not the standard online versus battles you are used to.

I love Sony, but I still have a certain lost of respect for them for lettin' this series exclusiveness slip through their fingers. On the bright side, now the series may expand even further.

Why are you and so many other people so butt-hurt about games not being exclusive? These games going cross-platform have nothing to do with Sony or Microsoft (unless a shit load of money is paid for being exclusive). Namco-Bandai made the game,so it was their decision to bring it to 360. Same Capcom with Devil May Cry 4 and Square Enix with FF13. MS has far better market share than it did with the original Xbox so it makes perfect sense for them to make games for 360. You and all others who think like you need to quit bitchin' and just play the damn games.

I wish it was being released earlier but I guess the more time they take with it, the better it gets. A Wii version would be nice w/ classic and/or gamecube controller support just like SSBB. Even if it won't come out for the Wii, I will be getting a PS3 soon anyways. Nobody better say the Wii can't handle it since many games have shown the true awesome graphics that can be established on the Wii (ex. Conduit). A wii version of Soul Calibur IV would also be nice.
