Ultimate Band

Ultimate Band for Wii is the perfect alternative to games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

For the past few years, games like the Guitar Hero series and Rock Band have made it so people don't have to start a band in their garage and play in dive bars just to satisfy their musical cravings. But for those who think that even the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games are out of their league in terms of difficulty, Ultimate Band should suit them much better.

Putting up the Instruments

The first noticeable difference between Ultimate Band and the aforementioned rock star-type games is that you won't be holding any sort of plastic replica. Unique enough in their own right, Disney has decided that simply using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk should do just fine for players. This means that people playing Ultimate Band will be able to play the drums, guitar and even sing vocals. But the term "singing" is taken lightly in this instance since you'll instead be using the Wii Remote and Nunchuck to make hand gestures that will fire up the crowd rather than singing into the controllers.

You won't exactly be making any of your own billboard topping singles, either, since all of the music consists of cover songs. However, one cool feature of Ultimate Band is that the sound of the song will change depending if your character is a male or female. So no matter if a man sang the original song, a female voice will be heard if the character is a woman. As far as performing the cover songs go, everything is pretty much run-of-the-mill with you trying to hit scrolling notes in their specific pattern like the aforementioned Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

Living the Life

Ultimate Band forsakes the challenges of making people increase levels through hours of practice and instead focuses on the story. You'll work your way up from the clich? garage setting to eventual stardom where you will attain a nice wardrobe of clothes to dress your musician with and will even get fan e-mails as well. Check out your fan mail when the game hits shelves December 15th on the Nintendo Wii.

this game looks like a pig crap. whats the point if you don't have a replica guitar? lets see how many 6 year old girls buy this.

I'm pretty upset that I read this...The enjoyment of playing Rock Band or Guitar Hero is learning to get better, learning to play harder songs. If you play the easy shit all the time there's not too much fun out of that. And anyone can play Guitar Hero or Rock Band. There are like a million videos of 7-year-old kids annihilating songs on both games.

this explains why the game looks like it will suck so much
