More than just Dave Mirra on rollerblades, Chris Edwards Aggressive Inline will feature RPG-style attributes and a gigantic set of tricks to perform.
It's difficult to discuss extreme sports games without mentioning the Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX series, and it's very difficult to discuss Mirra unless you bring up Z-Axis, its developer. The third game in the definitive BMX series isn't due out until the latter part of 2002, but until then, why not take a tour of the fascinating world of extreme inline skating with our pal Chris Edwards?Aggressive Inline, which is being developed concurrently on the PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox, is not just another cookie-cutter Tony Hawk clone. Z-Axis has taken great pains to develop the game specifically for inline skating, with a brand new physics model and a completely different set of tricks. Extreme-game fans who can skate on top of guardrails for hours at a time will love the trick system in this game; over 40 grind styles are available and you can link one into another on the fly as long as you don't bail.
Another new feature is the Dynamic Attribute System, an RPG-style system that lets you build your skater's abilities in seven different attributes. The only way to gain experience and raise your attributes is to skate straight and perform successful tricks; crash and you'll lose experience points. A Juice Meter that lets you keep on skating as long as you can keep up the tricks, nine enormous levels and six different multiplayer games spell out more than enough extreme action to keep you busy until Mirra 3 hits stores. Aggressive Inline will be available by summer.
