Tony Hawk?s latest world tour will visit the Xbox soon, and so far, it looks good.
If Tony Hawk?s Pro Skater 2x left you happy but wanting more, then THPS3 should be just the ticket. The Xbox version of Activision and Neversoft?s latest skateboarding celebration will likely fall between the GameCube and PS2 versions: There won?t be online play, like on the Sony disc; but there will be a linked console mode, which Nintendo?s machine doesn?t support. Beyond that, the game will be a straight port, complete with all the pro skaters, large skatepark environments, challenging goals, and fancy tricks. You?ll be able to create your own skater?and dress him up like a moron?and design custom parks for a unique experience you can call your own.The three-level playable demo version featured some nasty slowdown when the camera moved quickly. It was slightly worse than the PS2 game?s, but this build was also incomplete, so there?s a good chance it will be addressed. The hi-res player models looked great and the controls didn?t feel out of the ordinary, so gamers who have been patiently waiting for Tony?s latest ramp romp will likely get what they?re craving this spring.
