Gears of War is officially coming on November 7th with a new 5-player cooperative mode!
LOS ANGELES -- At Microsoft's E3 press briefing today, Epic design director Cliff Bleszinski revealed that Gears of War 2 is officially dropping worldwide on November 7th. He also announced a new cooperative mode called "Horde," which will allow five-players to battle wave after wave of Locust enemies.
"We're quickly building to the point where we have the most anticipated game of this holiday, on any platform," said Bleszinski, confident that Gears 2 will live up to the massive hype set by the original Gears of War. And judging by the new trailer and co-op demo shown just prior to these announcements, he could be spot on.
November 7th is the day!
Bleszinski took the stage at Microsoft's E3 press conference to unveil an enticing new trailer, followed by a live co-op gameplay demo from Gears of War 2's campaign. So far, everything looks more hectic than the first game, and thankfully Epic has toned down a bit of the overly-masculine speak that plagued the first game.
After battling a handful of Locusts, Marcus and Santiago came to greet a giant Brumak monster, who didn't look extremely happy to see them. While attempting to flank the creature and its pilot from behind, the duo decides it'll be better to do away with the driver and take control of the beast itself, thus setting the stage for a huge gameplay addition to come: the option to ride Brumaks. "If they can ride them, so can we," said Marcus, with a slight grin.
