Is this the game that?ll finally make soccer seem interesting to Americans?
Sega, who?s been busily producing their line of pro sports games for the Nintendo GameCube and other consoles, is about to switch gears a little bit. Soccer Slam, developed by sports specialist Visual Concepts, throws realism out the window and lets you play a 3-on-3 game of no-holds-barred soccer brawling.Diego Maradones and those other Brazilian prima donnas would have trouble surviving long in the underground leagues that Soccer Slam portrays. Mexican wrestlers and other odd characters rule the fields here, and dribbling skills don?t matter as much as the ability to kick ass from goal line to goal line. Although arcade action is the name of this game, there are also Tournament and Continental Cup modes where your players can power up their stats after victories and highlight plays.
Soccer Slam is slated for release sometime this spring.
