Retro is definitely back. 20 years after bursting onto the arcade scene as the gore-infused beat-em-up that pioneered horror in gaming, Splatterhouse has reawakened.

It's not a sequel, and it's definitely not a 2D arcade game. It's a full-3D reimagining more brutal and bloody than anything else in gaming and yes, we do mean anything. We're talking about Hulk-style thunderclaps popping brains like balloons and 2x4s flaying muscle and sinew from bone. This game will not be getting a T-for-Teen rating.

Splatterhouse tells the story of Rick Taylor, a college student whose girlfriend Jennifer has vanished into the depths of West Mansion. As monsters demonic and undead claw through the house, Rick happens across the Terror Mask, which, when worn, transforms him into a primal beast with otherworldly strength, agility, and regenerative power. Now, Rick's journey will take him to the farthest corners of the world to track down his beloved girlfriend and bring her back.

It's a simple story from a simpler time in gaming, but Splatterhous's complex combat system should shine through the blood fountains. Rick can use just about anything as a weapon, can chain together attacks into devastating combos, and can hurl himself across chasms or traverse twisted wreckage on his journey to find Jennifer. If you're looking for carnage, look no further; this one's got the goods.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh man this looks so freakin awesome i really have to get this game man i love this. i really think this is going to be a really big hit.

loved the original.still iffy about the remake.they should have remade it the same way they did the new mega man.retro >
