Later the demo skipped ahead to a point in the story where Aya is wounded and Capell has to carry her, leaving them both completely vulnerable and unable to attack or use items. For a while, you are accompanied by four NPCs who protect you as you make your way through a forest, but as soon as they leave your party, a giant, blue, fire-breathing dragon attacks and you need to take cover behind crumbling ruins as you find a way to escape.
During the group interview, we were able to get more details about Capell's flute powers. It turns out that that, "There are actually many different ways to use the flute," including attracting enemy attention, blocking magic attacks, and dispelling illusional walls. The effect depends on what song you play.
Kojima also gave us some more information about the "connection action" system. Connecting with different party members yields different actions. You can control enemies or even talk to animals! While your personal party (to whom you can issue general directives) maxes out at four characters (eventually to include your more dashing double, Sigmund), incidental companions can make some battles feature up to ten.
Infinite Undiscovery is set to ship the North America September 2, so we may even get it before the Japanese launch on the 11th. It's definitely one to keep your eye on, and not just because of the fantastic graphics.

I hope you can turn off the part where he yells out what move he's doing.
