Klonoa: Empire of Dreams

Namco?s exceedingly delightful floppy blue-eared cult hero brings his creature-inflating shenanigans to the Game Boy Advance.

He starred in an absurdly delightful PlayStation game that quickly became a cult favorite. Later this month, he?s returning in a PS2 sequel destined for the same status. This August, it?s time for Klonoa to be sized down?and a little bit Advanced. Klonoa: Empire of Dreams marks the first foray for Namco?s blue gibberish-talking floppy-eared cat-dog-thing into the American handheld realm. While the Game Boy Advance version will still retain the series? 2D-platform creature-nabbing-and-inflating style of gameplay, the game?s 40 levels will be far more puzzle-oriented than its PS and PS2 counterparts as Klonoa works around obstacles by collecting keys, positioning blocks, and coming up with new and creative ways to harness the Dream Empire?s indigenous wildlife. Sure, you may be pulling your hair out in frustration before too long at some of the game?s brain-benders?but at least you?ll have a big ol? delighted grin plastered on your face the whole time.
