2. Real Deal PvP ASAP
In a nutshell, the latest patch made it so that people who are grouped together can kill each other in adventuring areas. You can have one-on-one duels with party members, or if you're in the mood for carnage that's a bit more unbridled, you can have your entire group "flag" itself for PvP, and go at it in an adventuring area. While this is definitely a start, it's kind of disappointing that this is the extent of Hellgate's PvP implementation at launch. If you haven't noticed, this is basically a redux of Diablo 2's PvP, repackaged for the year 2007. I remember reading about PvP ladders and such being planned, but Flagship is currently tightlipped about these elements.
I believe that Flagship can deliver some pretty cool PvP game play and this is precisely why I'm disappointed. The game is designed around a cool balance of twitch elements and MMO-style mechanics, and this could lend itself very well to competitive applications. Adding PvP-focused adventuring areas would not be a stretch given what the game's already capable of, and in regards to ladders and leaderboards, this is essentially the least of what we've come to expect from a "modern" online RPG.
