Twisted Metal: Black

Have faith, true believers?Sweet Tooth is coming to save your soul, and redeem the entire Twisted Metal franchise in the process.

Revving Up
Incognito and Sony are giving Twisted Metal: Black one final tune-up before the game?s unleashed on an unsuspecting public. This late beta supports everything you?ve heard about the game?it?s shaping up to be very dark, very fast, very explosive car combat, chock full of secret elements and interactive environments.

The details matter: Drivers sometimes flee the burning wreckage of their cars?you can spot them because they, too, are on fire?and running them down earns you a bonus. On several levels, it starts raining, obscuring your vision; sometimes day will also turn to night, and the cars automatically switch on their headlights. Plus, the fiery explosion and particle effects look incredible?easily some of the most vibrant yet seen on the PlayStation 2.

Hello, Old Fiends
A few of the secret characters make an appearance in this build?Axel and Yellowjacket both show up as enemies, as does Minion?but the regular roster, plus such new characters as Bloody Mary and DollFace, will give you the willies all by themselves. The opening cinemas for each character were still works-in-progress, but they were plenty disturbing even in a half-finished state. With a blistering frame rate and alarmingly fast cars already zooming around, Twisted Metal: Black looks well nigh unstoppable.
