Another addition, which also grew out of single-player, is upgraded weapons. "The more experience you get with a weapon, the more upgrades you earn," Paquette explains. "The Thompson submachine gun, for example, first gets a front pistol grip, which reduces the horizontal spread, then a Cutts compensator, which reduces the vertical rise when you fire, and finally, a 50-round drum, which gives you thirty more rounds before you have to reload. And all of these upgrades are real, we researched all of them." Paquette also says the game will support two sets of servers: one that allows upgraded weapons and one that won't.
The best example of how this all works is a mode called "Objective Airborne," which is like "Capture The Flag," except, Paquette clarifies, "there are three flags in the environment, and each team has to capture all three flags, though some flags require two players to capture."
Besides "Objective Airborne," MOH:A. also features "Deathmatch" and "Team Deathmatch" -- all supporting twelve players on PS3 and 360, and an as-yet-undetermined amount more than twelve on PC - and, well, that's it. For now. According to Paquette, downloadable content, including new modes and new maps (augmenting the initial six), is a done deal, though not a dated one. "We actually have a team here to support the launch of the game and downloadable content." he says, "including any new modes that we want to add on."
Whether that'll include a mode where you fight sharks and cockroaches while listening to Back In Black, remains to be seen.
