Tekken 6

The new class

It has been confirmed that Tekken 6 will have the biggest roster of fighters of any Tekken title to date. Preliminary information from playtests and media events in Japan indicates that the game's character select screen will have room for up to 40 characters, although one of the slots will most likely be set aside for a random select option while another will be reserved for Mokujin or a Mokujin-like character.

This gargantuan roster will contain every single character from Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection with the exception of Jinpachi, but taking center stage will be a brand new wave of fighters.

Even Leo's alternate costume throws her gender designation into question.

Even Leo's alternate costume throws her gender designation into question.

The first of this upcoming class is Leo, a young practitioner of Bajiquan. As Bajiquan is the exact same style used by Akira from the Virtua Fighter series, expect Leo's style to use a lot of elbow strikes and shoulder charges.

Leo's initial debut befuddled many simply on the basis of gender classification--although the game's developers later confirmed that Leo is, in fact, female. According to the story, Leo's father was a renowned spelunker and her mother a high-ranking executive in the G Corporation. Since her father disappeared during a cave exploration when she was still a child, she was raised mostly by her mother until several years later, when the murder of her mother brought turmoil into her life once again.

All avenues of the investigation into her mother's death led to one person: Kazuya Mishima. With this information in hand, she heads off to take part in the next Tekken tournament to finally get some answers.

Zafina
If Zafina's from some podunk village on the other half of the globe, how in the world can she possibly dress so spiffily?

If Zafina's from some podunk village on the other half of the globe, how in the world can she possibly dress so spiffily?

Because Zafina practices no defined martial arts style, most find it difficult to accurately describe her techniques. However, preliminary reports point out that her general style keeps her low to the ground, and resembles the quick and agile movements of a spider.

As far as her story goes, Zafina hails from an ancient village tucked away from the prying eyes of modern civilization. As she is the descendant of a long line of warriors, it is her job to keep constant watch over the village's tomb, which is spiritually linked to the prosperity of her people, as they say. Her unequaled prowess in battle has ensured that this sacred tomb has not been touched by invaders even once.

Unfortunately, Zafina discovers that her people may be threatened by dangers emanating from halfway across the world. According to her premonitions, as well as an ancient tribal tale passed down from generation to generation, the meeting of two evil stars will spark the beginning of the end of days. Furthermore, these two evil stars will come together with an ancient evil buried deep within her village's ancient tomb, spelling certain doom for the entire world. To prevent this catastrophe from happening, she ventures into Japan to take part in The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6.
