Dark Cloud?s concept of rebuilding your hometown while fighting evil creatures is ingenious.

A North American release date has finally been set for this May. Dark Cloud involves a young boy who finds his village has been destroyed by an evil force. As the young hero, you must rebuild your village, bring back its citizens, and destroy the bad entity that destroyed your village.

The game displayed sharp visuals that included smooth transitions between day and night, great character detail, and beautiful lighting effects. Early in the game, most of the real-time battles occurred mostly in dungeons where you had to find artifacts to help rebuild your town.

The lack of any strong PS2 role-playing game could make it an overnight success.
