"I haven't had this much fun making a game in a while." For Sid Meier, the console migration of one of the most fabled jewels in PC gaming is a no-brainer. But it wasn't without its challenges.
"Bringing Civ to the consoles is like starting over," he told GamePro during an exclusive one-on-one interview on the second day of E3. "But the beauty is that a new generation of gamers will get to see the game for the first time."
For Meier and the rest of the Civilization Revolutions development team at Firaxis (which is designing the game for 2K Games), the other beautiful element of console design is that the team doesn't have to work around multiple iterations of video cards, operating systems, and general hardware configurations.
Most importantly, however, Meier is in love with Civilization again. "I haven't had this much fun designing a game in a long time," he told GamePro. "This is the richest Civ game ever."
First released 15 years ago, Civilization is a truly epic game of strategic diplomacy, exploration, and conquest. The gameplay begins with you in control of a single tribe of uncivilized barbarians. Over the course of 6000 years, you turn your tribe into a (hopefully) great nation state. You fight wars, engaged in complex diplomatic maneuvering, and upgrade the technology, economic might, and social circumstances of your people. The game can be won via multiple means: diplomatic, economic, science, or by violence.
Scheduled to release on the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and Nintendo DS, Civilization Revolutions mirrors Firaxis' classic turn-based Civilization strategy game in numerous ways. The core play mechanics remain intact. The game generates a unique world at the beginning of each game. Early on, the player chooses a tribe from one of 16 real-life civilizations and valiantly attempts to make his/her tribe flourish amidst adverse circumstances.

this game is amazing! very addictive. once you start a game u can't quit till you've won. everytime you finish with one item your on to another item. there is no break. The graphics are good. but the only negative thing is that the game ends in 2100. but hey that gives you about 3-6 hours of gameplay depending on your skill level. seriously though almost as addictive as WoW.
