Stuntman: Ignition

We go online for some Stuntman: Ignition multiplayer action. See what it's like inside.

Being a Hollywood stuntman is a rough gig. As if smashing expensive stuff, living secretly behind the silver-screen, and raking in the chicks isn't hard enough, now they're getting their own game...again!

Stunted

The original Stuntman, release back in 2002, put players behind the wheel as a dangerous Hollywood stunt driver, poised to take part in the most explosive action movies this side of Blown Away. Trouble was, see...Stuntman was incredibly difficult, and in the later stages, preposterous precision was required to nail insane strings of vehicular stunts. After almost five years off, THQ has snatched up the license and the first sequel, Stuntman: Ignition, is ready to smash through a sheet of breakaway movie glass.

Child's play

Child's play

The basic idea of Ignition is the same as the original Stuntman: risk your hide to perform dangerous car stunts in Hollywood flicks. You'll get direction on what to do and how to do it, but the room for error is indeed wider than in the first game. This makes getting though each movie much less frustrating than it was before.

One Ridiculous Run

Stunts are strung together to form one big action sequence. In Ignition, though, everything is bigger and better. Crashes are more explosive, sliding through narrow paths is more suspenseful, and like any Bruckheimer film, there is big-action chaos around every corner. Stunts are rated by a five-star system, but getting a perfect rating will pretty much take perfect execution of every stunt. The rating system is a big upgrade from the first game because now you can get through a stunt with sloppy execution but still progress to the next.

It won't be in one piece for long.
