Choose your battles wisely

In conjunction with the release of the summer blockbuster, Transformers: The movie, Activison is bringing the war between Autobots and Deceptions to gaming consoles. The game puts players in control of mighty robots, like Bumblebee and Barricade, and lets them experience the story of the movie first hand.

After choosing to fight as either an Autobot or Decepticon players will be immersed in giant, fully destructible environments. There is a story line that pushes the gameplay, but the game also allows for exploration and some good old-fashion peddle-to-the-metal driving. When finished racing through the streets, transform into robot form and interact with just about anything around, whether it be a car, bus, or building. The game offers players freedom of choice on a massive scale.

With 9 playable characters gamers will experience the power of the all-spark in true next-gen style. The console game is set to release this summer on the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, and PC. The game teleports the well-loved characters from Hasbro's property into an epic battle and will have gamers glued to their televisions and monitors.

Love in the palm of your hand

Activision loves you and wants to make sure your summer is not spent entirely indoors, so along with the consol version, they are releasing games for the PSP and Nintendo DS that are unique to each system.

Developed by Savage, the PSP game expands on the console version and offers gamers 20 playable characters both from the movie and classic generations. With 10 destructible environments from the movie and Generation 1 Transformers, players can use whatever means necessary to win the battle for the all-spark. The game is composed of 19 missions and when players complete the main story line they can battle in 4 player wireless competitions from Deathmatch to Secure the Energon.

The DS version utilizes wi-fi to connect players and engage them in an ongoing battle between the Autobots and Deceptions. Players will download daily missions and after completing them, their results will be uploaded to the virtual world where the score will be tallied. Other than online and local wireless battles, there is a robust story comprised of 20 missions and quests. Players of this version will not only be able to play classic Transformers, but will be able to create their own and scan more than 30 vehicles to transform into. The developers at Vicarious Vision bring robots to a new level by incorporating RPG elements into a great portable action game.
