His acrobatic maneuvers are mostly confined to buttons. The A button (Wii Remote) is used to jump when the Prince is static or in a contextual jumping situation, such as jumping out of a wall run or leaping across a gap. The A button is also used to roll when he is running on the ground and for jumping up onto ledges, while the Z trigger (Nunchuk) drops him down from a ledge. The B trigger (Wii Remote) runs the Prince along walls. Other buttons, such as 1 and 2, are used for landscape views and other camera movement.
Speed Kills are one of the best features of Rival Swords
Combat is accomplished by slashing the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to swing the Prince's blades, the former assigned to his right hand and the latter to his left (if he's carrying a second blade, that is). Pressing A vaults the Prince off of enemies to make him more versatile, and rolls him out of harm's way. Combos are activated by the right combination of Remote and/or Nunchuk slashes.
Graphics
480p looks okay, but this game doesn't have that new-gen shine, especially when playing on an HDTV over 40 inches. But it's not a bad looking game, and once you get over the fact that it's not a bathing beauty, you'll revel in the fun controls more than anything.
How it All Feels
You'd think that a redone version of the last game isn't worth your time and money, but Rival Swords actually feels like a completely new game just based on the unique Wii controls. Granted, this game can speak for itself with either control scheme, but I think the absence of good adventure games (with the exception of Twilight Princess, of course) makes this game a good buy. But it's a great buy if you never played The Two Thrones.
Run for your life, Prince.
