Prince of Persia: Rival Swords

The Prince is coming to the Wii, and we explain why Rival Swords controls almost as well as Twilight Princess.

Highlights:

- Great use of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk combination, making controlling the Prince incredibly easy

- One of the first Wii games, aside from Twilight Princess, that doesn't control awkwardly

- Rival Swords is the same game as 2005's The Two Thrones, and is NOT a new adventure.

- Combat is made simple by slashing the Wii Remote/Nunchuk

- A must-have game for anyone who didn't play Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones

Those wanting a new Prince adventure on the Wii might be disappointed to learn that Prince of Persia: Rival Swords is pretty much identical to The Two Thrones, the third and most recent console game in the series. But the game has been completely remapped for the Wii's control scheme, and to our surprise, the Wii Remote and Nunchuk combination works extremely well for the Prince's patented acrobatics. Controls often feel as fluid as they do in the Twilight Princess.

Controlling the Prince and his patented acrobatics are incredibly simple on the Wii.

The Story

Yes, after playing though the first few levels of the game, it was more than evident that this is the exact same game as The Two Thrones, but because the controls produce such a different experience, the game as a whole feels much different (this is also because The Two Thrones is such a great game, and playing through it a second time is just as engrossing). Thinking he'd set everything right in his time travels, the Prince returns to Babylon to find his homeland under attack. In short, Kaileena is captured, and once again the Prince is sucked into an adventure of acrobatics and time travel.

Controlling the Prince

Basic movement of the Prince is controlled by the analog stick on the Nunchuk. You have complete 360-degree movement with the stick, and camera control is assigned to the directional pad on the Wii Remote, acting like a right analog stick. These are the Prince's standard controls.

Combat in Rival Swords is all movement-based.
