Wii Super Paper Mario release date announced

You are cordially invited to the betrothal of Princess Peach and King Bowser on April 9th, 2007.

According to a clever press release made this morning on Nintendo's press site: "Nintendo of America Requests the Pleasure of Your Company at the Marriage of Peach to Bowser on the 9th Day of April 2007."

According to the release, "The nuptials will take place at the beginning of Super Paper Mario, which will be available for Nintendo's hot new Wii home video game system. Those who wish to attend -- or thwart -- the ceremony will need to switch between 2-D and 3-D."

The game had only recently been announced as a Wii exclusive, since the project to bring it to GameCube was abandoned in favor of fully utilizing the motion-sensing capabilities of the Wii's remote control. Gamers can now combine both 2-D and 3-D gameplay by holding the Wiimote sideways and pressing the A button to toggle the perspective.

As for the wedding, no details have been announced yet regarding location, but the couple has specified that they have organized a registry with Bowser's Castle Shop, located in breathtaking Bowser castle. Super Shrooms and Maple Syrups are always welcome, but no mystery blocks, please.

Neither Mario nor Luigi could be reached for comment.
